Event venue at Pförtnerhaus Basel
We host company events, birthdays and drinks receptions at the Pförtnerhaus. You can hire a room or the whole 140-year-old house, and the catering comes from our kitchen.
Rooms at the Pförtnerhaus
The Engadinerraum (Engadin Room) seats up to 15 people, the Atelier (Studio Room) on the ground floor up to 26. For larger events, you can hire the whole house. Tell us what you're planning and we'll suggest the right room.
Occasions & catering
A company event with morning coffee, a light lunch and drinks at the bar afterwards, a birthday with an apéro table and warm food, a Christmas dinner or a fondue evening: we'll work out with you which room and which food fit. And if you're celebrating elsewhere, our Croffle Bike comes to you.
Choose from Pförtiplättli and croffles for an apéro, coffee and daytime catering, or a fondue dinner in the evening. We'll put the menu together with you.
Describe your event
Tell us your date, number of guests and what you have in mind. The form opens a pre-filled email to hello@pfoertnerhaus.ch, which you then send from your email app. We usually reply within one to two working days with a first quote. If it's urgent: +41 79 347 28 70.

Which room can I hire at Pförtnerhaus?
The Engadinerraum (up to 15 people) and the Atelier on the ground floor (up to 26 people), or the whole Pförtnerhaus on request. Tell us what you're planning and we'll suggest the right room.
How much does the venue cost?
The price depends on room, duration, number of guests and catering. Send us the key facts of your event via the request form and we'll prepare an individual quote.
Is catering available?
Yes, the catering comes from our own kitchen, from an apéro with Pförtiplättli and croffles to dinner. We'll agree the menu with you in advance.
What about accessibility?
The ground floor with the café bar and the Atelier is partially accessible: there is a small threshold at the entrance, and the WC is on the ground floor. Talk to us and we'll work out what's possible.
Can we hire the whole Pförtnerhaus exclusively?
Yes, on selected days, mostly at weekends. Ask us via the form with your date and number of guests.
What if I need to postpone or cancel my event?
Let us know as early as possible. For postponements, we'll look for a new date first. The terms are set out in your quote.
