Sunday brunch in Basel, once a month

On one Sunday a month we open the Pförtnerhaus, set our bar and serve a buffet just the way we like it best ourselves. Small and refined. CHF 39 per person.

What's on the buffet

Bircher muesli, homemade Sunday plait (Zopf), fresh croissants, Swiss Lachs, a mature cheese selection, charcuterie, sweets and cake, plus croffles and fruit. Eggs and bacon can be ordered as an extra. A selection with character, set out fresh.

Price & seatings

CHF 39 per person, including one hot drink. Children up to 12 pay half price. We offer two seatings: 10:00 to 12:15 and 12:30 to 15:00, just pick one when you reserve.

Reservation

We recommend reserving early. The online form is fastest; you can also call. And if something comes up, please let us know early, so someone from the waiting list can take your seat.

Sunday brunch FAQs

When does Sunday brunch take place at Pförtnerhaus?

On selected Sundays, usually once a month. The next 2026 dates: 30 August, 20 September, 25 October and 29 November; more will be added. Reservations are required as places are limited.

How much does Sunday brunch cost?

CHF 39 per person including one hot drink (coffee, tea or matcha). Children up to 12 pay half price. Additional drinks (juice, champagne, wine) are charged based on what you order.

Which time slots are available?

Two seatings: 10:00 to 12:15 and 12:30 to 15:00. Just pick one when you reserve. Both seatings have the same buffet.

Are vegetarian or vegan options available?

The buffet always has vegetarian items (bircher, cheese, sweets, croissants, Sunday plait) and usually vegan options too. If you brunch strictly vegan, mention it when you reserve and we'll prepare accordingly.

How late can I reserve, and what if I have to cancel?

Online up to the day before, subject to availability; dates usually fill up two to four weeks ahead. If you can't make it, please cancel as early as possible, seats are limited and in demand.
