We're Diana and Michel Gysin. Together with our crew, we run the Pförtnerhaus in Basel's Gellert neighbourhood, a place we love to be ourselves.

We came to hospitality from other careers. With the Pförtnerhaus, we wanted to create a place where we would enjoy spending time ourselves: over good food, a glass of wine and with people from the neighbourhood, no occasion required. What goes on the menu is what we love to eat and drink.

The crew
Our crew brings together people who know hospitality inside out and people who came from other fields and simply enjoy being hosts. Together, we look after the kitchen, bar and service, from the first espresso in the morning to the last glasses at night.
